4 - Colonial Weymouth: Second Forgotten Settlement Schneider/Finney 2021 Locally published. Overlaps with Mayflower book.
5 - A Literary Feast Ed. Lilly Golden 1999 Stories featuring food. Excellent writing by notable authors.
6 - The Transparent Society Gianni Vattimo 1992 Views on postmodernism. Heidegger and Nietzsche referred to a lot.
7 - How Modern Media Destroys Our Minds School of Life 2022 Critical look at Media. Much needed reminders.
8 - A Sunday In Purgatory Henry Morgenthau III 2016 Poetry. A WGBH producer - turned poet at age 100.
9 - The Ballad of Buttery Cake Ass Aug Stone 2022 Novel. Fun tale of record collecting fanatics.
10 - The 1913 Armory Show in Retrospect Museum catalog 1958 Booklet done in conjunction with 1958 exhibit at Amherst College. A good reminder of the impact of the show .

11 - Architecture in New England  Wayne Andrews 1980   Excellent. Lots of familiar buildings.
12 - Paradise Lost   John Milton 1667   Classic. Didn't care for the theology or story but the poetic voice was glorious. God, Satan, angels and devils all have very human behavior .
13 - Twilight of the Gods   Wilfred Mellers 1973   One of the first books to analyze the Beatles music seriously.
14 - Proust Was A Neuroscientist   Jonah Lehrer 2008   About how art intersects with science. Clear writing that shows how artists illuminate scientific principles.
15 - Built   Roma Agrawal 2018  Principals of engineering. shown in buildings, aqueducts, waste systems and bridges. Very good.
16 - The Hits Keep On Coming   Ben Fong-Torres 2001   History of Top 40 Radio. Lots of crazy Disk Jockey stories.
17 - Klee   Nello Ponente 1960   Biographical and critical study.
18 - Devotion   Mary Oliver 2005   Large poetry collection. Almost exclusively takes inspiration from nature. Oliver was Pulitzer Prize winner in 1984.
19 - Sweeney Astray   Seamus Heaney  1983   New translation of long poem from 1600.
20 - The Monk and the Philosopher  Jean Revel/Matthew Ricard  1998  Father/son discuss ideas that reflect east/west thinking. Very good.

21 - Sway   Ori/Rom Brafman 2008   Pop psychology book on irrational behavior.
22 - The Worldly Philosophers   Robert Heilbroner 1961   Against all expectations, this book on economists was entertaining.
23 - Absalom's Hair   Bjornson Bjornstjerne  1908   Novel. He was 1903 Nobel Prize in Literature. Norwegian author.
24 - Frank, The Voice   James Kaplan  2003   Bio of Frank Sinatra up to 1953.
25 - The Media Lab   Stewart Brand  1987   Dated. It's several decades from these cutting edge ideas. The MIT Media Lab had it all correct.
26 - Suspiria   Alexandra Heller Nicolas  1977  All about the 1977 movie Suspiria by Dario Argento.
27 - Montpelier Parade   Karl Geary  2016   Novel. Irish writer.
28 - Faust Part I   Goethe 1808   Classic.
29 - Mountains of the Mind   Robert Macfarlane 2003  The perception of mountains through the ages, from hampering travel to inspiration and climbing.
30 - Pin Ups 1972   Peter Stanfield 2022   English writer reviewing Glam: Bolan, Bowie, Roxie Music.

32 - The Bridge of San Luis Rey   Thornton Wilder 1927   Novel. Didn't like.
33 - The Devils Novice   Ellis Peters  1983   Mystery in medievil times with Cadfael, a monk in 1140 AD.
34 - High Rise   J.G. Ballard 1975   A high rise population acts out. Goes into class warfare and Lord of the Flies like survival.
35 - The Hidden Reality   Brian Greene  2011   String Theory and the Multiverse.
36 - Meditations   Marcus Aurelius 160 AD   Stoic thoughts.
37 - Killdozer   Theodore Sturgeon 1996  Vol III of Sturgeon Sci Fi stories circa 1940.
38 - Mozart in the Jungle   Blair Tindall   2005   Real life of orchestra players - made into a TV show. Lots of eye opening revelations.
39 - Buddenbrooks   Thomas Mann 1901   German classic. Story of four generations of Buddenbrooks. Seemed predictable and contrived to me.
40 - The Pilgrim of Hate   Ellis Peters  1984   Murder mystery in Medievil times.

41 - Hurry Up and Meditate   David Michie 2008   Introduction to meditation.
42 - Roman Art and Architecture   Mortimer Wheeler 1984.   It's always fascinating to see what a thriving culture Romans built.

44 - How Much Art Can You Take?   Philin Phlash/Barille 2007   Photos and essays on SSD - Boston Hardcore.
45 - Drive   Giles Chapman 2002   History of Cars. Interesting perspective to see as electric cars are having growing pains.

47 - The Stranger   Albert Camus  1942   Classic. Audiobook.
48 - Snapshot   Linda Barnes 1993   Mystery with Boston backdrop.
49 - The Recognitions   William Gaddis  1955   Huge novel. Considered a great American novel. Hard to read. Now that I have finished it I feel I'm finally ready to read it and understand it more.
50 - A Readers Guide to The Recognitions   Steven Moore   Online resource. Extensive footnotes and references to the text. Much needed.

51 - Keats: A Brief Life in Nine Poems and one Epitaph   Lucasta Miller 2021   A biography and poem analysis. Very good. Easy read but substantive.
52 - Nightfall   David Goodis  1947   Noir novel.
53 - Sea of Tranquility   Emily St. John Mandel 2022   Novel. Complications of time travel.
54 - Optic Nerve  Maria Gainza 2019  Novel. Life of Argentinian woman interspersed with critique/bio of artists she likes. Liked the concept not the execution .
55 - Book of Days   Patti Smith 2022   Book of photos. The focus on artists is refreshing.
56 - Rising   Elizabeth Rush 2018   Examines the US cities that are flooding because of the rising oceans. Very good.
57 - Letters to a Young Poet   Rainer Maria Rilke 1904  New translation by Barrows/Macy with commentary.
58 - This Rancid Mill   Kyle Decker  2023   Mystery with the 1981 LA punk scene as background.
59 - The Woman in the Library   Sulari Gentill 2022   Mystery set in Boston.
60 - Furnace of this World   Ed Simon 2019  (Subtitled: or 36 observations on goodness.) Philosopher gives wide ranging references to make his point .

61 - When We Cease to Understand the World   Benjamin Labatut 2020   Half science/math and half fiction. Odd. Didn't like.
62 - Marcel Proust: 75 Folios   Nathalie Dyer 2023  Some early drafts of In Search of Lost Time.
63 - Slouching Toward Bethlehem  Joan Didion 1968   A much respected book that I was not big on. Dated.

68 - Oryx and Crake   Margaret Atwood  2003   Dystopian Sci-Fi novel. Social and scientific criticism delivered via the storyline.
