2 - Selected Translations by Ted Hughes 2006 Wide ranging selection of Poetry over a long time period.
3 - The Given Day Dennis Lehane 2008 There is some interesting Boston history in the story. Audiobook.
4 - The Road Not Taken David Orr 2015 All about the Robert Frost poem. Very Good.
5 - Sons of Sam Spade David Geherin 1982 The private eye novel in the 70s.
6 - Being and Nothingness Jean-Paul Sartre 1943 Got enough out of it to make it worthwhile but that is one hard book.
7 - A Commentary on Being and Nothingness Joseph D. Catalano 1980 Help with the Sartre.
8 - The Boston Copycat Killer Johnny Barnes 2018 ½ about serial killers through history and ½ crime story happening now.
9 - Outside is America - U2 in the US Carter Alan 1992 From the early days to stardom by WBCN DJ.
10 - Rilke's Book of Hours Translated by Barrows/Macy 2005 Poems from 1905. Calming and spiritual.

11 - Sonnets to Orpheus   Rainer Maria Rilke  1920   About living in nature and not forgetting death.
12 - Rilke on Love and Other Difficulties   John JL Mood  1975   Some of Rilke's work and some commentary.
13 - The Bedwetter   Sarah Silverman  2018   A lot of edgy and uncomfortable subject s, as one would expect.
14 - Mario and the Magician and Other Stories   Thomas Mann  1952   Some nice sections.
15 - Rabbit Redux   John Updike  1971   A lot about the 1969 zeitgeist
16 - Nirvana - The Biography   Everett True  2003   Large book manages to show Kurt's lifestyle, life and career.
17 - Matisse   Noel Bernard  1987   Short but substantive explanations of Matisse's theory on creating his art.
18 - The World of Copernicus   Angus Armitage  1951   About life and work.
19 - Who is Teddy Villanova?   Thomas Berger  1977   Parody of detective novel. Stupid, waste of time.
20 - Modern Artists on Art   Robert L Hervert   1964   10essays by artists like Mondrian, Klee and Kandinsky. Very good.

21 - Groundwork of the Metaphysic of Morals   Immanuel Kant  1948   About the categorical imperative
22 - Murder Below Montparnasse   Cara Black  2013   Murder mystery with Paris setting. Not so good.
23 - The Subterraneans   Jack Kerouac  1958   Novel. I liked getting back into the beat world.
24 - Silence in the Snowy Fields   Robert Bly  1962   First book of poems by Bly. Midwest nature is the common subject.
25 - David Lynch: The Man From Another Place   Dennis Lim  2015   Career overview.
26 - Assault and Beret   Jenn Mc Kinlay  2017   Lightweight mystery with Paris setting.
27 - Concerts Conversations   Joseph Kerman  1999   The Structure of Concertos (from lectures)
28 - Perfume   Patrick Suskind  1986   Murder mystery.
29 - Plato and a Platypus walk into a Bar…   Cathcart/Klein  2009   Using jokes to explain philosophy. Light reading.
30 - Inside Seal Team Six   Don Mann/Pezzulo  2011   Audiobook. Mostly Seal training stories. They are a different breed.

31 - Tough Guys Don't Dance   Norman Mailer  1984   Didn't like. Some cringe worthy moments.
32 - How to Stop Worrying and Start Living   Dale Carnegie  1948   Keep busy and have positive thinking is the gist. Fun read. Common sense.
33 -The Iceman Cometh   Eugene O'Neil  1940   Everyone's dream dies in this depressing play.
34 - God Bless John Wayne   Kinky Freedman  1995   Mystery novel.
35 - Mao II   Don DeLillo  1991   Novel dealing with terrorism. Modern problems.
36 - Satori in Paris   Jack Kerouac  1966   Stories from a short trip to France.
37 - Crimson Joy   Rrobert B. Parker  1988   A Spencer novel
38 - Alan McGee & the Story of Creation Records   Paolo Hewitt   2000   95% of the stories are about drugs and partying. Waste of time.
39 - Why A Duck?   Ed Richard Anobile  1971   Dialog from Marx Brothers Movies.
40 - The Doom That Came to Sarnath   H.P. Lovecraft  1930   Oh, the creepy goings on!

41 - Beware Beware   Steph Cha  2014   Mystery. Just alright.
42 - Prolegomena to any Future Metaphysics   Immanuel Kant  1983.   Beyond me.
43 - Down the Darkest Street   Alex Sequra  2016   Mystery novel. Waste of time.
44 - Rickles' Book   Don Rickles/Ritz  2007   Autobio - breezy.
45 - Claire DeWitt and the Bohemian Highway   Sara Gran  2013   Mystery novel. Waste of time.
46 - The Secret Life of Introverts   Jenn Grannemman  2017   All about introvert psychology. Wish I had read this 50 years ago.
47 - On Celestial Music   Rick Moody   2012   Rock critic. Some interesting insights.
48 - California Dreaming   Andrew Hickey  2015   The LA pop music scene and the 60s. Good.
49 - Rabbit is Rich   John Updike  1981   Novel reflecting the 70s.
50 - Rabbit at Rest   John Updike  1990   Final book in series (of 4). Liked this one the best. Set in the 80s.

51 - Semiotics and Interpretations   Robert Scholes  1982   Applying Semiotics to get insights into literature.
52 - Clothes, Clothes, Clothes, Music, Music, Music. Boys, Boys, Boys   Viv Albertine   2014   Member of the Slits. She was right in the middle of the English Punk explosion. Interesting viewpoints.
53 - Chance   Robert B. Parker  1996   Spencer novel.
54 - Rocks: My Life in and Out of Aerosmith   Joe Perry  2014   Audiobook. The endless drama and dysfunction of Aerosmith.
55 - Americana   Don DeLillo  1971   His first book. Hard to read. Fragmented, with no big point. All ideas, no focus.
56 - The Friends of Eddie Coyle   George V. Higgins  1970   It's all about the wise guy dialog.
57 - The Perfect Theory   Pedro G. Ferreira  2014   Astronomy, dealing with Einstein's General Theory of Relativity.
58 - The Seventh Function of Language   Laurent Binet  2015   Murder mystery that involves French Philosophes (circa 1980). Ambitious but didn't work.
59 - Stages of Grey   Clea Simon  2014   Mystery set at Harvard University.
60 - Slowness   Milan Kundera  1995   Novel. Didn't like. Slim. Compares different eras.

61 - The Pound Era   Hugh Kenner  1971   Enjoyed some parts but didn't have the knowledge of the Cantos to fully get this.
62 - Whatever Happened To Good and Evil   Russ Shafer-Landaw  2004   Excellent. Clear writing on relativism and objectivity in morals.
63 - Born to Drum   Tony Barrell  2015   e-book. Very general overview of drummers. Waste of time.
64 - Art Deco: Flights of Artistic Fancy   Susan A. Sternau   1997   Coffee Table book.
65 - Timequake   Kurt Vonnegut  1997   Has all the Vonnegut touches but a bit too cranky at points.
66 - Philosophy Bites   Edmond /Warburton  2010   Interviews w/ 25 philosophers on intriguing topics. Plain speaking and to the point.
67 - Motherless Brooklyn   Jonathan Letham  1999   Novel. Fun.
68 - Bono   Michka Assayas  2005   Full book interview w/ Bono, who is not just a vapid rock star.
69 - Music Adventures in Listening   Joseph Machlis  1968   School course book on classical music. I used YouTube to supply musical examples.
70 - Drift Away   Kerry Tucker  1994   Mystery situated in Boston. Terrible.

71 - A Town Called Malice   Adam Abromowitz  2119   Mystery situated in Boston w/ Boston Rock as background subject matter.
72 - Keys to Infinity   Clifford A. Pickover  1995   Mathematical oddities dealing with Infinities: Fractals, for instance.
73 -A Case of Vineyard Poison   Philip R. Craig  1995   Murder set on Martha's Vineyard. This is a series with 21 books I've read many and I'm finishing the series this year.
74 - Bobby Darin   Michael Sith Starr  2004   Bio. Bobby didn't realize till late in life that the person who he thought was his sister was actually his mother. Had a bad heart his whole life.
75 - Bosstown   Adam Abramowitz  2017   Predecessor to A Town Called Malice.
76 - Vineyard Shadows   Philip R. Craig  2001   Mystery with Martha's Vineyard setting.
77 - Skeleton Man   Tony Hillerman  2004   Mystery.
78 - Music and the Mind   Anthony Storr  1992   A wide ranging analysis of why we like music.
79 - The Hardest Working Man   James Sullivan  2008   About the James Brown Boston Garden show of 1968, the day of Martin Luther King's assassination. A look at JB's career and black politics of 60s 70s and 80s.
80 - A Poem Worthy Place   Kendal Hippolyte Ed  2011   Bermuda Anthology of Poetry Vol II.

81 - Even Cowgirls Get the Blues   Tom Robbins  1976   Fanciful writing. Playful novel.
82 - A Vineyard Killing   Philip R. Craig  2004   Mystery on Martha's Vineyard - 3 more books in 21 book series.
83 - It Happened in Boston?   Russell H. Greenan  1968   Unusual novel of some acclaim. Enjoyed this a lot.
84 - Second Sight   Craig/Tapply  2005   Martha's Vineyard Mystery. 2 more books to go to finish series.
85 - A Judgement in Stone   Ruth Rendell  2000   Did not like. I like her early books better.
86 - Third Strike   Craig/Tapply  2007   Martha's Vineyard mystery. 1 more book to go in series.
87 - 1970: The Hulton Getty Picture Collection    2001   Over 300 photos.
88 - Vineyard Chill   Philip R. Craig  2008   Finally, the last book in series. Craig died in 2016 
89 - The Annotated Big Sleep   Chandler/Hill/Jackson/Rizzuto  2018   Fantastic. Text is explained and contextualized.
90 - The Photo Book   Phaidon Press   1997   500 Photos from 500 photographers.

91 - Raymond Chandler's Los Angeles   Ward/Silver  1987   Photos/excerpts/essays.
92 - Dark Horse   Rory Flynn  2016   Crime novel happening in Boston.
93 - Once a Rocker, Always a Rocker   Mach Bell  2019   Tour diary of Mach's time with the Joe Perry Project. I'm mentioned in this.
94 - The Consolations of Philosophy   Alainde Botton 2000   Easy to overview of Socrates, Seneca, Montaigne, Schopenhauer and Nietzsche.
95 - From Doon with Death   Ruth Rendell  1978   English mystery novel. Rendell's first.
96 - Words Without Music   Philip Glass  2015   Autobiography. Interesting.
97 - How Things Exist: Teaching on Emptiness   Lama Zopa Rimpoche 2008 Some Buddhist thought.
98 - World Enough   Clea Simon  2017   Mystery happening in the Boston Club scene.
99 - Andrew's Brain   E.L. Doctorow  2014   Novel. Some interesting twists and bits. Audiobook.
100 - The Expressionists   Wolf- Dieter Dube  1972   Mostly "The Bridge" and "Blue Rider" movements.

101 - The Next Elvis   Barbara Barnes Sims  2014   Remembrances of the publicity person at Sun Records.
102 - Selected Poems of Octavio Paz   Ed by Eliot Weinberger  1984   Very surrealistic.
103 - The War Against Clicks   Martin Amis  2001   Essays and reviews 1971 to 2000
104 - The Art Institute of Chicago   John Maxon  1970   Overall look at the museum collection circa 1970.
105 - Spade & Archer   Joe Gores  2009   A prequel to the Maltese Falcon. Surprised I liked this as much as I did. Good job by Gores.
106 - Pride and Prejudice   Jane Austin  1813   Classic.
107 - Early Autumn   Robert B. Parker  1981   Spenser mystery.
108 - Little Richard: the Birth of Rock'n Roll   David Kirby  2009   Not very good.
109 - The Sinister Pig   Tony Hillerman  2003   Mystery novel.
110 - Ripped   Greg Kot  2009   Good review of how the music industry has changed in the last few decades.

111 - Literature and Evil   George Bataille  1957   Hard to follow. Talks about Proust, Blake, Genet, Kafka and more.
112 - Rhyming and Stealing   Angus Batey  1998   A history of the Beastie Boys.
113 - Marcel Proust   Edmund White  1999   Life and works.
114 - The Grim Phoenix: Reconstructing Thomas Pynchon   William M. Plater  1978   Very in depth analysis. Insights into the underpinnings of Pynchon's writing.
115 -Cell   Stephen King  2006   Audio book. Cell phone zombies rule in this one.
116 - The Education of Henry Adams   - Henry Adams  1907   Great grandson of John Adams. Look at the world from Civil War to WW1. Well thought of book with an unusual tone especially for its day.
117 -Surfing with Sartre   Aaron James  2017   Real philosopher and real surfer combines both practices.
118 - Bowie, Bolan and the Brooklyn Boy: An Autobiography   Tony Visconti  2007   Lots of Bowie/T Rex tales and the his life in the recording studio.
119 -The Art of T.S. Eliot   Helen Gardner  1949   A lot in this. I'm holding on to it to reread some sections again.
120 -The Spitboy Rule   Michelle Cruz Gonzales  2016   Story of a female punk rock band.
